Kevin Patrick Fogarty passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his home on Oak Island after a short illness.

Kevin was an active Elks Lodge member serving as Exalted Ruler for the Oak Island Elks for two terms and as a North Carolina State Vice President & District Deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler until his death. He was a tireless fund raiser for the Elks Lodge and for local charities including Communities In Schools, Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue, Paws Place Dog Rescue, the Oak Island Elks Scholarship Fund and Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He was also a great volunteer and helper for the Elks Kinston Veteran’s Home. Kevin was a local business owner, operating Coastal Shutters since 2005 with his brother.

Kevin was almost a native of Oak Island, having lived there for 15 years. He was born in 1958 at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, and grew up in Sparta, New Jersey and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He lived in California and Arizona before coming to North Carolina.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Barbara Crosdale, and brother, Steve.

A celebration of life will be held in his memory at the Oak Island Elks Lodge for his friends on Friday, November 15, from 5 to 7 p.m.
