Richard J. LeFrancois, age 70, died on Sunday, March 3, 2019 of metastatic prostate cancer.

He grew up in Ohio and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He also served as the VFW post commander in Morrison, Colorado.

Richard put himself through college driving semi-truck all across the US. He rode his Harley motorcycles hundreds of thousands miles, finding back roads and small towns.

Richard and his wife, Jan, made Southport their home from 2015 to 2018, and he loved to walk his dog along the waterfront and the docks at Southport Marina. They returned to Colorado for the remaining months of his life.

Multiple services will be held for Richard across the United States in the upcoming months.

In his memory, donations can be made to the American Truck Historical Society in Kansas City at 10380 North Ambassador Drive, Suite 101, Kansas City, MO 64153. (816-891-9900).
