Prendergast won all four of her matches by fall in fewer than 90 seconds.
Prendergast beat Dixon senior Marianna Root by fall in 1:09. Prendergast won by fall over Katie Simmons of Laney in 1:21. Prendergast won by fall in 1:23 against Havelock sophomore Alexi Lipscomb. Prendergast beat Manteo junior Thaila Aguirre Gomez by fall in 31 seconds.
Four other Cougar wrestlers also won matches.
Senior Natalia Perez at 114 pounds finished 1-2, winning by fall in 3:05 against Carolina Villarreal of Havelock.
Junior Julianna Herold at 120 pounds finished 1-2, winning by fall over McKenzie Brown of West Craven in 24 seconds.
Junior Natalia Sanchez finished finished 1-3 at 145 pounds, winning by fall over Anna Vasquez of Rosewood in 1:23.
Freshman Emma Yopp finished 1-2 at 165 pounds, winning by fall over Emily Parrish of Rosewood in 1:32.
